Resources for Affordable Housing Coverage
MHAPCI was formed as a non-profit on November 25, 1988, because of the extraordinary increase in insurance costs seen by many Missouri NAHRO Members in the mid-1980’s. Although Missouri housing authorities were excellent insurance risks, they were being penalized by dramatic increases in prices in the private market. Today, we are a coalition of 103 public housing authorities in the State of Missouri that pools our resources in order to provide stable and affordable coverage to our Members.
MHAPCI is licensed by the state of Missouri and approved by the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
A Legacy of Trust and Giving Back
MHAPCI has refunded all of the initial contributions paid by housing authorities who established the pool. We have also given dividends back to all of our Members in the form of premium reductions totaling over 7 million dollars.
We are founded upon principles of trust, integrity, partnership, service, and competence. Governed by a Board of 9 Executive Directors of public housing authorities, MHAPCI has a unique understanding of and commitment to serving our Members’ needs.
